New at Orlando Symposium/ITxpo 2002
Friday, 4 October 2002
Those surveys that Symposium/ITxpo attendees are asked to fill out do pay off. As a direct result of feedback penned on those forms, Gartner is introducing several new kinds of sessions this year. Now, in addition to the analyst presentations, workshops, tutorials, showcases, exhibits, forums and Mastermind Keynotes that are an integral part of Symposium/ITxpo, there are even more choices so that senior IT professionals can gain exactly the perspective they need to make the profitable decisions they face every other week of the year. Here is a summary:
ITxpo Marketplaces
Designed to aggregate solution providers in a specific market and make it easier for attendees to interact with exhibitors, ITxpo Marketplaces are self-contained areas in the exhibit hall, each with its own theater. Here, Gartner market analysis, vendor demonstrations and topic-intensive learning will help draw a tighter link between conference content and market solutions.
This year, three important IT topics are offered: Client Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Systems Management and Application Integration and Middleware. Participating "Marketplace Drivers" - companies that Gartner has identified as vendors that affect the competitive balance of that particular market - include IBM Tivoli Software, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle and Siebel.
ITxpo Marketplaces will be offered at future Symposium/ITxpo events on whatever topics are then front and center in the IT marketplace.
Face-to-Face Meetings
One-on-Ones, private sessions with Gartner analysts where IT executives get a chance to ask the tough questions they need answered have been a popular feature at Symposium/ITxpo for years.
Now Gartner introduces Face-to-Face programs where attendees have the opportunity to meet privately with exhibitors to gain a deeper understanding of products and services as they relate directly their business, and get the personal answers they need from top solutions providers.
Attendees can register for Face-to-Faces up until Thursday, 10 October, in Orlando.
Vendor Case Study Panels
These new panels take a real-world, in-depth look at the three hot IT topics being covered in the new ITxpo Marketplaces. Through discussion and case study examination, top industry providers will reveal their insight and lessons learned.
Custom Diagnostic Workshops
Attendees can also book workshop sessions to meet directly with lead consultants from Gartner's core practice areas to get feedback on their most pressing issues and challenges. During two-hour interactive workshops consultants will provide insight into Gartner best practices which will result in a jointly-developed plan of action for the attendees' organization.
CPE Accreditation
Gartner, Inc. is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. Symposium/ITxpo 2002 attendees are able to receive CPE credit for attending the conference. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for this credit.
